Dr. Mrs. Ernestina Fredua Antoh is a Senior Research Fellow/Lecturer at the Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD), College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, (CANR). She has training in Sociology with focus on social planning and rural policy development, monitoring and evaluation. Ernestina holds Doctoral degree in Development Studies from University of Cape Coast. Ernestina’s research interests focus on rural livelihoods, microfinance, gender and development, value chain governance and coordination. Her major research has been in the area of microfinance and human capital development resulting in a number of peer-reviewed journal articles. She has special interest in the role of market queens in the commodity chain especially, market queens and value chain. She has been involved in community engagement and outreach services through dissemination of research results at workshops and training programmes. She has participated in several national socio-economic studies involving project appraisal, planning, impact assessment and evaluation, baseline and feasibility studies. She has been a member of International Mission Programmes as a rural sociologist. Ernestina is a member of numerous boards and committees.

Mrs Antoh holds a Docterate degree in Development Studies from University of Cape Coast, Ghana (2014), a Master of Art in Education Research from the University of Susses (2010), UK, Master of Art in Rural Social Development from University of Reading, UK(1990), a Post-Graduate Certificate in Planning and Appraisal of Rural Development Projects from the University of Bradford(1992) and a Bachelor of Art in Sociology from the University of Ghana (1986)
